LPCC Sailor Attends ORACLE TEAM USA Base

Robyn Lesh, college sailor on LPCC’s Team USA representing the ICSA (winning team for LPCC 2015) checked out the ORACLE TEAM USA base! Four sailors and three coaches were selected and made their way to Bermuda to experience a new classroom for the week. This special opportunity for the sailors and coaches is a part of the college internship tier of the Endeavour program – the America’s Cup community sailing project. Robyn relays a glimpse of what life was like during their 3-day training program:

“We’ve been able to see a little bit of everything – the hulls, the wings, the foils, how their control structures are going to work, how they’re testing different components and how that’s all going to wrap together into the final boat,” said Robyn Lesh, a senior ocean engineering major at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
